As a sci-fi fan and amature astronomer...Ive always wanted to view this/pic this with my Nexstar 6SE. It has been hard and I have not done it yet but I cant wait to be able to say..I have seen the Horsehead Nebula with my own eyes. :) Great Pic! Qapla! |

Hi smith!
For visual observation of the horsehead take a good H-beta filter (Lumicon or Astronomik, no other!) and a scope with more then 8" in diameter. With a dark clear sky and about f/6 to f/5 you will definetly have success. Using a 12"+ Dobson ist visually best!
