Inside Glass-house observatory
Inside Glass-house observatory by Andrew Bray
This is the inside of my observatory. The CPC 9.25 is fully set up and ready to go. I haven't bothered with a pier - the tripod is fine. An external solar panel drives the two suspended fans that cool the telescope in Summer and the two exhaust fans in the back (North) wall. There is enough room around the telescope to allow it to point in any direction and the doors are very wide - so no accidents at night! There is plenty of natural light in the day and it is easy to keep clean, so it doesn't turn into a massive spiders' nest. The triangular aluminium shelves double as braces to keep the structure rigid. There are pleny of additional braces as a green-house isn't usually designed to move on tracks!
